Hypnosis training Australia, eight days in class
The in-class training runs over eight consecutive days and is where you learn to induce hypnosis under supervision. Three intakes are scheduled for 2027: Melbourne from Friday 22 to Friday 29 January, Perth from Wednesday 3 to Wednesday 10 February, and Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from Friday 5 to Friday 12 March. Places are limited.
Early registration discounts
To celebrate the re-opening of the Academy, the initial training fees for the first three trainings in Melbourne, Perth and Phnom Penh are already at a reduced introductory level. After March 2027 the in-class training fees will increase.
To secure your place, fees can be paid with an initial deposit of AUD $1,500, or USD $1,100, with the full balance due 30 days before the commencement of training. An early registration and payment discount of $500 is available if fees are paid in full upon registration, reducing the full fee to AUD $4,497, or USD $3,200.
Upcoming in-class training dates
XInside the in-class training
The in-class days are taught in the room. Rick Collingwood demonstrates on students, then you practise what he has shown with a trainer watching, and your practical competency is assessed live in the room rather than by video.
The same fee applies in every country, and less again for existing online students.
Prices are shown without GST. Customers in Australia have 10% GST added at the checkout. Customers outside Australia are not charged GST.
The eight days
Days one to three are Advanced Hypnosis training conducted by Rick Collingwood. Day four Michael Nadalin delivers a separate session covering self-hypnosis, hypnosis for achievement, and marketing your hypnosis practice.
Days five to eight are Advanced Mesmerism and Magnetism training, including how to combine those methods with hypnosis in practice. The eight days run consecutively, as one block.
How the days are taught
The in-class training is hands-on and experiential. You practise on other students under supervision, and no knowledge is withheld in order to upsell you into another training.
Because the days run as a block rather than weekly evenings, most students complete the in-class requirement in a single period of leave. Online theory opens the day you register, so study begins well before the practical days.
After training is completed all students retain permanent free access into the regularly updated student resource centre.
Assessment and the qualification issued
The in-class training requires completion of the eight days, together with an examination and self-assessments. Practical competency is assessed live, in the room, which is why this component cannot be completed remotely.
A Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy is issued on successful completion.
What in-class enrolment includes beyond the eight days
In-class students gain automatic access to the student training and resource centre and to the materials in both the Hypnosis and Mesmerism portals, including all training manuals and training videos. Six online group monthly Zoom trainings of two hours each are included.
In-class students can also repeat any future training at a very low cost. Resource centre access is permanent and free.
Fees and what is not included
The fee is AUD $4,997, or USD $3,600, in every country, and less again for existing online students. If you studied online first, those fees are automatically deducted from the in-class fee.
Travel and accommodation for the in-class days are not included, and neither are professional association membership or insurance fees once you qualify.
Common questions
Can any of the eight days be completed online?
No. Practical competency is assessed live, in the room, so the in-class component cannot be completed remotely or by video.
Do I have to attend all eight days?
Yes. The eight days run consecutively as one block, and attendance across all of them is required because competency is assessed live.
Do I have to travel to Melbourne?
Three intakes are scheduled for 2027. Melbourne runs from 22 to 29 January, Perth runs from 3 to 10 February and Phnom Penh, Cambodia, runs from 5 to 12 March, so students choose whichever suits their travel.
I have already completed an online training. What do I pay?
Those fees are automatically deducted from the in-class fee, and the in-class fee is less again for existing online students. The exact figure is confirmed in the current information pack.
Are travel and accommodation included?
No. Travel and accommodation for the in-class days are arranged and paid for by the student.

Google reviews
These Google reviews were submitted by students who trained directly with Rick Collingwood, and were written while he owned and was head trainer of The Australian Academy of Hypnosis, which he founded in 1995 and owned until March 2023. Some of the reviews name the Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses of that time, which the present trainings have now replaced.
I have completed several courses with Rick Collingwood and I highly recommend his training to anyone who is serious about learning hypnosis, plus anyone interested in improving the skills they already have.
The thing I love most about his courses are that they are strictly hypnosis training, so even after the certificate course I left confident in my ability to hypnotise people. And because he focuses just on hypnosis training there were plenty of opportunities to practice what we learnt in class and get feedback from Rick himself.
I’ve since completed the diploma and advanced diploma, as well as several other courses with Rick, and it was from his training that I gained the confidence to open my own hypnotherapy practice soon after doing his certificate course.
If you have a genuine desire and will to be of assistance to people in need, Rick Collingwood will open up a new world through what he and his trainers will teach you.
There is no denying that Rick will challenge you, expand your world view and run you through your paces like an army sergeant.... But.......
He will also be there to support you and make sure you graduate confident and competent in your skills to begin working successfully in the Hypnotherapy Industry.
Rick has a vast knowledge that runs deep and wide and has devotion to the Fore Fathers that paved the way for us that is quite moving and enlightening.
Forever grateful :-)
Rick, the premier Australian hypnotist, teaches authentic hypnosis, powerful deepening and healing technique. Not only that he shares his knowledge generously, but also his compassion, kindness and caring for people makes him a huge difference and a real mentor.
Every single dollar you spend, you will get multiple returns. It is affordable and worth of every single moment of your time.
A must-go if you ever wanted to learn the real hypnosis skills. Highly recommended.
