Canberra students study the theory online and travel to Melbourne or Perth for the in-class practical training. The next in-class intakes run in Melbourne from Friday 22 to Friday 29 January 2027 and in Perth from Wednesday 3 to Wednesday 10 February 2027.

For international students, tell us where you are and where you are starting from. We reply with the fees, the dates, and the detail that applies to your requested or closest location.
Every enquiry is answered by the Academy rather than by an automated sequence. Tell us what you need to know and we answer that.
The fees in your currency, the dates for the intake you are considering, and how an online training fee is deducted if you later attend in class.
Classes are limited in size, so an early enquiry gives you more choice of intake. It holds nothing and obliges nothing.
The in-class days are taught in the room. Rick Collingwood demonstrates on students, then you practise what he has shown with a trainer watching, and your practical competency is assessed live in the room rather than by video.

The qualification is deliberately split. Theory, history, ethics and case work are delivered online through the students resource centre, which you work through at your own pace from Canberra. The practical component - inductions, supervised practice and assessment - happens in the room, in Melbourne or Perth, because competency is assessed live.
Because the practical days run as a block rather than weekly evenings, most Canberra students complete each stage in a single trip. That suits someone already working: the hours come out of one period of leave rather than a weeknight class stretched over months.
One trip covers it. The in-class training is eight consecutive days: three days of Advanced Hypnosis with Rick Collingwood, one day of self-hypnosis, hypnosis for achievement and marketing your practice with Michael Nadalin, and four days of Advanced Mesmerism and Magnetism. If you would rather not travel at all, the online trainings are completed entirely from Canberra.
The Academy was founded in 1993 and Rick Collingwood has trained more than 5,000 students in his hypnosis styles. That is the reason Canberra students travel for the practical days rather than train closer to home. See the Melbourne training details.
Prices are shown without GST. Customers in Australia have 10% GST added at the checkout. Customers outside Australia are not charged GST.
Canberra students sit the same training as everyone else. The full curriculum module by module, four unedited training demonstrations, the class photographs and fifteen student testimonials on camera are all on the intake pages.
These Google reviews were submitted by students who trained directly with Rick Collingwood, and were written while he owned and was head trainer of The Australian Academy of Hypnosis, which he founded in 1995 and owned until March 2023. Some of the reviews name the Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses of that time, which the present trainings have now replaced.
For those of you who are interested in doing hypnosis or hypnotherapy, this academy is second to none.
After researching many academies and settling on this one, I have come across many students from other academies who could not induce hypnosis until coming to this one.
If hypnosis or hypnotherapy is for you - don't waste your time or money going anywhere else.
In my opinion this is the best place in Australia to learn the traditional hypnosis.
Rick is a great teacher as well as a very generous man, who not only understands but also practices hypnosis which he uses to help thousands of people
I highly recommend that organisation to anyone who is willing to learn the real hypnosis and intends to open his own practice
